Grecian Fables 2013

Day 1 – DEPART USA
Board your overnight flight (not included). 

Day 2 – Athens City of the Gods
You are met and transferred to your tour hotel. Enjoy a Welcome Reception with drink and a light meal. 

Day 3 – Parthenon Mycenae and Nafplion
After your sightseeing tour of Athens cross the Corinth Canal to visit Mycenae. Stay in seaside Nafplion.(B,D) 

Day 4 – Olympia Birthplace of the Olympics
Visit the sanctuary of Asclepios at Epidauros.(B,D) 

Day 5 – Delphi Centre of the Ancient World
Visit the Olympic Stadium, plus the athletes’ gymnasium and the city’s ancient temples. Then head to Delphi.(B,D) 

Day 6 – The Sacred Way and Kalambaka
Ascend the Sacred Way to the Temple of Apollo. Travel via Thermopylae to Kalambaka. This evening enjoy a Celebration Dinner at your hotel complete with wine.(B,D)

Day 7 – Meteora Monasteries and Athens
Visit the monasteries of Metéora, perched on pinnacles of rock. Return to Athens.(B) 

Day 8 to Day 14– Cruising
Transfer to the port of Lavrion to board your cruise ship and set sail for the blue waters of the Mediterranean. Your ports of call include exotic Istanbul and Mykonos with its maze of walkways, white washed houses and magnificent windmills. There is the option of staying on the island for the night if your wish. Your cruise returns the next day and sets sail for Patmos, Kusadasi, Rhodes and Heraklion on Crete. Then to beautiful Santorini for your final night. While cruising, Breakfast (BB), Lunch (L), Dinner (D), and Supper (S) is served on board daily. During your voyage there is also a fun-filled Greek Evening and Dinner with entertainment.(B,L,D,S)

Day 15 – Athens at Leisure
Disembark, then time at leisure.(B) 

Day 16 – Return to USA
Bid farewell to Athens. There are transfers to the airport.(B)

• Athens: Climb the Acropolis to the Parthenon. See Hadrian’s Arch, Temple of the Wingless Victory and Temple of Zeus.
• Corinth Canal: Cross the breathtaking canal.
• Mycenae: Walk through the Lion Gate past the Cyclopean Stones to the ‘beehive’ tombs.
• Epidauros: Visit the Museum, Asklepeion and theater.
• Olympia: Tour the original Olympic Games site.
• Delphi: Ascend the Sacred Way past the Treasury of the Athenians to the Temple of Apollo.
• Thermopylae: Hear tales of Leonidas and his heroic Spartans.
• Metéora: Visit one of the monasteries.
• Cruising: Visit the Greek Islands of Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete & Santorini. Visit the Turkish ports of Istanbul & Izmir.
